Celebrities with Acne

I am constantly having skin envy with celebrities!!! I have to remind myself that in magazines they are airbrushed and at celebrity events they have professional make-up artists on call to make them look their best.

I am not one to criticise anyone with acne (as I would be a hypocrite) and I get quite angry when magazines do so with famous people! From personal experience I know how difficult it is to control acne, let alone banish it completely! Infact, I sometimes feel pleased when I see celebrities who have been photographed when they are looking at their most "normal" as it reminds me that nobody has completly flawless skin. At least when I look my worst my appearance won't be scrutinised in a magazine...

So let's look at some pictures of famous people who, like us, suffer from acne. I've found all these pictures on google!

Pixie Lott

Pixie Lott is an extremely beautiful and talented girl! Is acne stopping her from being a pop star with her own clothing range being sold in Lipsy stores across the country? I don't think so!

Victoria Beckham

Pop star, fashion designer, footballers wife. It goes to show that even endless amounts of money can't save you from the occasional acne breakout!

Cameron Diaz

The place where I found this picture described Diaz as "disgusting". How anyone can refer to one of the worlds most beautiful and talented actresses as disgusting is beyond me!

Jessica Simpson, Aril Lavigne, Brad Pitt, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, all these people suffered from acne and are now global superstars! That's not even including celebrities who suffer from breakouts but not full blown acne (like Katy Perry). Acne doesn't hinder you in any way unless you allow it to. I do, I have struggled with my confidence for a long time and I have to make a conscious effort not to shy away from things because I think I look "ugly".

Famous people make a living out of being photographed or filmed, they can't not just turn up for work because they're having a bad skin day and for that I admire them!

  1. Hi!

I know this was posted a while ago, but I just want to say this is a fantastic post. I randomly stumbled upon it. I'm 20 and I've JUST developed acne. I had clear skin up until 5 months ago and now its really bad. I thought the whole acne, low self esteem thing was supposed to happen in high school, not college :(

Anyway, I just wanted to say I enjoyed this post. It's comforting to know ANYONE can suffer from acne, no matter how famous they are. And its ridiculous when people say its "disgusting". Since developing acne I will never look at it the same again... I know how much it can upset someone and I know that it has NOTHING to do with us not being "clean" (that one REALLY bugs me). I wash my face twice a day, eat super healthy, yet my acne is still terrible. People need to learn that acne sufferers can't help it, regardless of them being famous or regular folk :)

  2. I developed sudden onset of "adult acne" too. If it's around your mouth, chin, and cheeks, not your forehead or upper face it might not be acne but a reaction to a change in your toothpaste. Fluoride and whitening products caused my face to have a crazy terrible reaction that just got worse and worse. I tried everything, I mean, everything and in the end... it was the toothpaste...good luck.

  4. Hi I like this post very much. I had achne as a teenager and it had such an effect on my confidence.I remember the stares and the hushed comments. Now in my thirties I am beginning to gain confidence. My skin is a lot better now thanks to doctors. I have a wonderful boyfriend who knew me before my skin got better so I know he likes me for whats inside not whats on the outside- what super beauty can say that. I even got chatted up by a former school bully who did not recognise me who used to taunt me I used to cry myself to sleep at night. So if you have achne your not alone and it will not last forever.Having achne in my teens has actually made me a stronger person and that I am strangly thankful for.

  5. I am 14, I suffer from mild acne and it really gets to me because all my other friends have perfect skin and i'm full of blemishes, I have mentioned to my Mam who is super suportive about getting medication to treat my acne , my skin is starting to clear up now. I eat lots of fruit & veg, get some exercise agleast 30 mins a day, i take vitamin B6 which regulates my hormones and it has really improved my skin and i wash daily using a mild facewash as people say alchohal facewash can make your acne worse and dries out your skin, i apply sudacreme on my blemishes before i go to bed it's really working and this acne is because of my teenage hormones, also DRINK LOTS OF WATER ! :) hope this helps; this post showed me celebritys are not perfect either :0 thankyou

    1. Please don't. I hope it isn't too late. Instead of thinking you are unwanted because of vanity, think how wanted you'd be to people who need you. Go help someone or something who needs you. Anyone or anything!

    4. 18 years old? That's way too young to even be thinking about something so ridiculous. I know you're probably at your wits end, but you should look into the Caveman Regimen. Cut every face product out of your life and stop washing completely. You'll be fine. Be strong (there are people who have suffered twice as long as you have and we made it), and look into that regimen. Please.

-You're welcome and you can thank me later.

    5. Hello, I had terrible terrible acne in my teens; incredibly painful bumps; had very little confidence; had beautiful skin, then just one day, my skin went all out of wack; I'm in my 30's now, had many laser treatments and my skin is great; and guess what, even as a teenager, I even had strangers say how beautiful I looked, and how I had such a great look; I never believed it though; my advice to you, is to be happy inside, set other goals, and there is always great makeup techniques you can use to cover, even the worst acne or scars until you can fix it; I;m sure you are a beautiful person and your friends and family would be very upset if you hurt yourself;

    6. I started getting acne at 21 in college. Going to the doctor helped at times but it seemed to really have a mind of its own. Sometimes it was okay others it was terrible I hated being in the sun you could see every blemish and probably a terrible make up job. After two years I decided to go on accutane. I am glad I did I'm one month in and see great results. I was skeptical at first until I saw what it did for my brother and wow it's amazing. This day in age there are great things to help us. Acne is so hard but not worth losing a life over. These pictures are only three celebrities with bad skin. There is also Megan fox, Kim kardashian, Beyoncé, brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie so many more. Most people would never know but it's the hard truth. My advice is to surround yourself with people that love you because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. This will help your confidence and the rest the doctors will handle! Suicide is not the answer no matter how hard things get and believe me I know all about struggles!

  7. Every one who has suffered from acne has felt miserable, it never seems to go away and just when you think it's looking better it gets so much worse. You've just got to remember that there ARE things you can do to control it and there are always people you can talk to! I always felt more at ease talking to people who also suffered from acne because they understand how hard it can be and how it effects your self-esteem. If you're ever feeling sad or upset you can always talk to me :)

  13. Hi all, one of the reasons I started this blog was because none of my friends have acne and no one else seemed to understand how it made me feel. When I read comments like the one from theroad2richs.com it makes me happy because it's great that it doesn't stop you doing what you love but also a little bit jealous because I just wish that I could have been the same! It's really frustrating putting your life on hold because you don't feel confident enough to do the things you used to.
Thanks for all the comments and I hope that you have all kept safe and happy :) Let me know how your skin is doing!

  16. I suffered from acne all over my face for years. I tried everything, including seeing a homeopathist and a dietician. The only thing that helped - and it cured me totally and permanently - is Roaccutane. It changed my life and I cannot recommend it enough. It's been three years since my course and I still have at least one moment every day when I see my reflection and just can't believe that I'm now a person with normal skin. Acne is an awful thing to deal with and Roaccutane was a miracle cure for me.
